Tour Holy Land Tabgha Church of Multiplication Of The Loaves and Fishes

Tabgha is an ancient Greek word, Heptapegon, meaning "seven springs"  The water from the springs makes this a area green, lush, green trees and palms.  This area of lush green landscape is different from the rest of the desert like terrain around the Sea of Galilee. Tabgha is located on the Sea of Galilee on the north western shore just a few miles from Capernaum.  Tabgha is most known for being the site that Jesus once walked and fed 5,000 people.  The Multiplication of the Loaves and Fishes is referenced in the Bible in Matthew 14: 13 - 21

The Bible refers to a few things about the location of the miracle of Jesus feeding five thousand people. The Bible refers to the location as being remote. Jesus had brought the disciples there for a retreat.
Historical records show that Tabgha has always been a quiet area with less than a handful of people.  It is a couple of miles to walk from the nearest village of Capernaum. As the setting of feeding of the 5000 miracle, it meets the criteria of being away from a village and being directly on the northern shore of the Sea of Galilee.

All Maranatha Tours Israel Holy Land tours visit Tabgha and spend some time learning about the scripture and listening to our Christian tour guides teach about the area, scripture references and our passengers have time for quiet prayer.  The staff at Tabgha, keep the area quiet and serene to ensure everyone enjoys their visit.  Our groups will have time to walk down to the water, and visit the Church of Multiplication of the Loaves and Fishes. We spend about an hour here taking in the beautiful scenery.
